We deliver a 2-3 day, high-level skill development course that is fun and engaging called Leader Effectiveness Training (L.E.T.)

More About Leader Effectiveness Training

Throughout this program, you will learn leadership skills through presentations, coaching, video demonstrations, skill practice exercises, workbook exercises, and small group discussions and activities. 

After the L.E.T. Workshop, it is expected that you will have learned how to:

• Determine who “owns the problem” in a given situation.
• Identify roadblocks to communication.
• Recognize when team members need your help as a skilled listener.
• Use silence, acknowledgments, and door-openers to help another person with a problem.
• Active Listen to hear another’s feelings and to clarify information.
• Determine what to do when another’s behavior is interfering with your needs.
• Confront another’s unacceptable behavior, acknowledge other efforts, and prevent problems with I-Messages.
• Recognize conflict situations and use Method III to resolve a conflict you have with another person or to mediate a conflict between others.

Tracking

More About Reverse Evaluations

Our reverse evaluation program involves a confidential online survey where direct reports assess the leadership effectiveness of their manager. Effective managers are encouraged with positive feedback, and those less effective managers are provided with “specifics” on where change is needed. The saying, “what gets measured gets managed,” applies here.

We then provide annual one-day refresher courses to improve lower-scoring skills and reinforce high-scoring skills.

Through this program, we see leaders rapidly increase their skill level. At the start of our program, on average, 30% of managers are rated by direct reports as “very good.” Within three years, we see this rate increase to 80%. In nearly all instances, “bad managers” disappear…not because they quit or were fired, but because they changed for the better!
